Professor Dr. Abdulaziz Khalifa Al-Qassar
Professor Dr. Abdulaziz Khalifa Al-Qassar is a distinguished academic specializing in Comparative Islamic Jurisprudence. He earned his Ph.D. in Comparative Fiqh from the Faculty of Sharia and Law at Al-Azhar University in 1997. Dr. Al-Qassar has been a prominent figure at Kuwait University, where he served as a professor in the Faculty of Sharia, particularly in the Department of Comparative Fiqh and Sharia Policy, from 1997 to 2017. He also held the position of Assistant Dean at the Faculty of Sharia from 2003 to 2007 and taught at the Graduate School of Kuwait University from 2001 to 2017.
In addition to his academic roles, Dr. Al-Qassar holds several professional certifications, including the Certified Islamic Professional Accountant (CIPA) from the Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI). His research and scholarly work focus on financial transactions and Islamic economics, with numerous publications in reputable journals. His notable works include studies on Islamic insurance, zakat, family businesses, and contemporary financial transactions, among others.
Dr. Al-Qassar has also contributed significantly to Islamic finance through his involvement in various Sharia supervisory boards across the Middle East and Europe.
